Engagement Summary

With an AIM Assessment you can scope and showcase the value of migrating from Dynamics on premises to Dynamics 365. You will help customers understand the benefits of moving from on-premises (for Dynamics AX, CRM, NAV, GP, SL and Business Central

on-prem) to the cloud to accelerate the journey to AI-guided productivity, identify business objectives and tie them to Dynamics 365 functionality, and identify next steps based on assessment recommendations and solution complexity.

Actionable Steps

Dedicate a salesperson

Responsibilities will include assembling customer information (FOBs, database backups) and communicating with customers and Simplanova.

Assemble qualifications

Check if you have one of the below qualifications. If not certain or you don’t – Simplanova will cover this for you.

Get a list of on-prem customers

Compile a list of all your on-premise running customers who may have intent to migrate. Remember: they do not have to commit to upgrading, just having the intent to upgrade.

Simplanova will help you confirm eligibility, work on making sure your reports are accepted and prepare AIM Assessment reports.  Order AIM compatible reports to secure your slot for 2024!

Submit assessment

Submit assessment to the customer and define next steps for migration, if they have the intent.

Submit report for the payout.

AIM Assessment Report

The report will include following three parts:

Technical evaluation

Integrations, database, custom code, processes, reporting, automation refactoring, what can and cannot be migrated.

Functional evaluation

High-level business processes overview (mapping old to new), high-level overview of capabilities relevant to customer, ISV add-ons and alternatives, licensing for the transition.


Recommended upgrade approach, next steps in upgrade, total scope and price, detailed analysis.

Proof of Execution

Simplanova will help you configure the Partner Center and submit the reports for payouts, make sure it’s eligible. The submitted Partner Proof of Execution should contain the following:

  • Invoice for the report
  • AIM Assessment Report prepared by Simplanova (with technical, functional review parts and conclusions with price, actionable steps)
